New to the library? – Library Card

To make full use of the library, you need a library card. With a library card, you can:

  • Borrow books and other media,
  • Manage borrowed books online via your library account (e.g. extend the loan period),
  • Reserve borrowed books,
  • Order media from the closed stacks or via interlibrary loan,
  • Reserve workspaces or group rooms, and
  • Use PCs in the lower reading room.

If you are interested in obtaining a library card, please first register on our website using the online form. The card is free of charge for TUHH students.

You can pick up your card immediately after registering at the ServicePoint Monday to Thursday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday until 6 p.m. Please bring the following with you:

  • Identity card or passport including confirmation of registration
  • Student ID card (alternatively, certificate of enrolment or confirmation of enrolment)

Please do not forget to provide a valid email address when registering so that we can inform you when your loan periods are about to expire, for example. With your library card number and password, you can log in to your library account on our website. There you will find an overview of your current loans and reservations. You can also use the website to renew your loans and place reservations.
