Workspaces

We offer various workspaces. Some of these can be booked via our reservation system.

Group rooms

Our group rooms are places for collaboration and communication. Therefore, conversations are permitted and encouraged here.

Small group rooms

There are a total of 8 small group rooms, each accommodating 4 to 6 people. These rooms are exclusively available to TUHH members and must be booked via our reservation system. Rooms 1.007 and 1.008 are additionally equipped with computers.

Large group rooms

There are 3 large group rooms that can accommodate several groups and individuals. You can use these without a reservation. There is one large group room in the lower reading room and two in the upper reading room.

Individual and group workstations

Reading room 1

The workstations in the lower reading room are available to everyone. Quiet conversations are permitted here.

Reading room 2

The Workstations in the upper reading room can be book one week in advance via the reservation system. Here conversations should be avoided and, if necessary, should only be conducted in whispers.

PC workstations

PC-Pool

The PC pool is located in the lower reading room. To use the computers, you need a valid library account. They can be used for research or to access the library’s digital media.

Kiosk-PCs

The kiosk PCs are located in the entrance area. They can be used without registration and are intended for searching the library catalogue. In addition, the TUHH website and standard databases can be accessed from there.

Windows-PCs

The Windows pool is located in the upper reading room in room 1.005 and in front of the lift. These computers are provided by the TUHH Data Centre. A TUHH student or staff account is required to use them. The library account cannot be used for this purpose.

Special software relevant to your studies is installed on the computers. A list of this software can be found on the Data Centre’s website.

A flatbed scanner is also available for free use at one of the computers.

Recreation area

There are small areas for resting next to the entrance door and in the rotunda. The entrance area is equipped with beanbags. Upholstered benches and chairs are available for you in the rotunda. You can also read the daily newspapers there.

Additional learning spaces from the AStA

In addition to the library, the AStA also offers various learning spaces on the TUHH campus. These are available exclusively to TU students. External students can also use some of the learning spaces, but not during exam periods. An overview of the learning spaces and the terms of use can be found on the AStA website.
