New to the library? – Library Catalog

The library catalogue allows you to view the library’s holdings from anywhere. Here you will find printed media with their locations as well as our digital offerings, such as licensed e-books, journals, articles and open access publications.

The library catalogue shows you

  • whether the book you are looking for is owned by the library,
  • where a book is located in the reading rooms,
  • whether a book is currently available,
  • whether and until when a book is on loan.

You can also use the library catalogue to:

  • request books from the stacks free of charge using the ‘order’ button,
  • reserve borrowed books free of charge,
  • order books that we do not have in stock from another library in Germany via interlibrary loan,
  • access digital media directly (only possible for TU members outside the library).

You can start a search in the catalog via the search box on the homepage, for example by entering:

  • keywords from a book title and the author’s surname, or
  • keywords relating to a specific topic.

You can narrow down your search in advance using the drop-down menu next to the search field (‘All fields’) if, for example, you are looking for a specific title, journal title or author. You can then refine your results further using the filter options on the right-hand side.
