New to the library? – Textbook Collection

The textbook collection contains multiple copies of introductory literature required for studying at the TUHH and for the first examinations. You will find them on the ground floor of the library on the left-hand side of the reading room.

The books are sorted alphabetically by subject group. You can tell which subject group a book belongs to by looking at the call number. The first two letters indicate the subject group (see example).

In the textbook collection, you will find, for example, Agricultural Sciences (AG) in the first shelf block, Mathematics (MA) and Mechanical Engineering (MS) in the middle block, and Process Engineering (VT) and Materials Science (WK), among others, follow at the back of the window.

If all copies are borrowed, you can:

  • use the digital edition. On the shelf, you will find a placeholder with a QR code that will take you directly to the e-book. Alternatively, you can access it via the library catalogue.
  • use the so-called reference copy (“Präsenzexemplar”). This cannot be borrowed, so that it is always available for use in the reading room during opening hours.
  • submit a book request to us for purchase by the library.
