Since March 2022, the University Library (tub.) has offered an open, virtual consultation hour on Open Access every Friday from 10:00 to 10:30. This is also the case during this Open Access Week 2022 – bring your questions on Friday, we will be happy to advise you on publishing in Open Access.
For the tub. open access team, “Open Access Hours Friday” has already become firmly established. For about half an hour, the team meets in an open Zoom room and offers the opportunity to engage in personal exchange in addition to email and telephone consultations. Whether questions about second publication rights, funding through our publication fund or our other publishing agreements from which you benefit as a TUHH member, any desired topic can be individually addressed and advised. In the past months, there have been consultations and exchanges on topics such as publication financing, publication processes, Creative Commons licenses, and open science in general.
In the event that there are no participants with consulting needs, the event format is also used for a exchange of the Open Access Team. It is a good opportunity to discuss the past work week and to discuss current consulting cases and upcoming tasks.
visits to TU institutes
In addition to the open “office hours Friday”, the TU Library also offers customized introductory lectures on OA at TU institutes and for working groups if you are interested. Here we can address your questions or problems, e.g. regarding license selection, copyright or secondary publication. Please feel free to contact us with specific date and topic requests.
Consultation hours during Open Access Week 2022
An open Open Access consultation hour will also be offered next Friday. This time, the concept has been slightly changed: In addition to the possibility of coming to the office hours with basic questions about Open Access or individual consulting needs for Open Access publishing, a short presentation on Open Access and the publication opportunities at the TUHH has also been prepared, so that it is worthwhile to attend if you are interested in Open Access even without a specific question.
