The Cluster of Excellence BlueMat: Water-Driven Materials develops nature-inspired, sustainable materials whose functionality is controlled by water, creating forward-looking solutions for science and technology. Structured data management is essential for this research. The University Library of Hamburg University of Technology provides professional support for researchers in handling research data and accompanies the cluster with a Data Steward.

We offer a full-time, fixed-term position, remunerated according to salary group 13 TV-L.

Your tasks

  • Coordinate and support research data management (RDM)
  • Develop RDM guidelines for the cluster in close collaboration with the scientific leadership
  • Advise researchers throughout the entire research data lifecycle
  • Design and implement RDM processes and select suitable tools, e.g., electronic lab notebooks
  • Deliver trainings and create information resources on RDM, Open Science, and data standards

Your profile

  • Completed university degree (Master’s or equivalent), particularly in engineering, natural sciences, or information sciences

For the professional focus:

  • Sound knowledge and practical experience in data management or data science
  • In-depth understanding of the FAIR principles, Open Science, and (meta)data standards
  • Solid skills in working with data platforms, databases, and version control systems
  • Strong communication, mediation, and advisory skills, as well as service orientation and willingness to cooperate
  • Excellent English skills (C1), good German skills (B2) are desirable
