With the beginning of the summer semester 2019, we are expanding our self-service offer:
After the service area has been restructured, you will be able to pick up reserved media from our stock (requirements from the closed stacks, reservations) not only during our service hours, but also during the entire opening hours of the University Library, including weekends!
How does it work?
- We will make the media you have requested from the magazine available for you on the pick-up shelf. This will soon be available on the site of the current Information service desk – sorted by user in the stack!
- The order characteristic for the individual allocation will be the imprint in the middle of the respective order form of the volume: namely the first letter of your surname, followed by the last 4 digits of your library card – this serves for anonymisation.
- You record the volumes intended for you and take care of the booking at the self-booking machine – during the service time, booking is of course still possible at our counter.
- By the way, journal volumes no longer have to be booked. In any case they are only permitted for use in the library rooms. Interlibrary loan media will continue to be available at the service desks for the time being.
For this project, of course, retooling and conversion actions are necessary, which we want to carry out from Thursday, 28-3-19 until Friday, 29-3-19. We apologize for any inconvenience.
On these two days the previous service areas will be separated as a “construction site”. However, from Thursday we will set up a mobile service corner for you before the passage to the textbook collection. We will try to cover our entire offer during the construction and clearing period, supported by the automatic self-check-out machine. The spatial change of perspective for staff and audience will help both sides to get used to new processes together. We will be happy to answer your questions on site!
Until the weekend you will find the service desks on the right hand side again when you enter the library – in terms of space and content “concentrated” as a central contact point for your enquiries and concerns – we look forward to hearing from you!
