What do you think? – Learning through communication

Communication is essential if we are to work with others to find solutions to a problem. Yet conveying your own ideas to others is a major challenge. How can you communicate these vague ideas that currently exist only in your imagination? What information does the other person need to understand your ideas and build on them? Should you describe them in words or draw them? Or can you convey your vision through gestures?

In this workshop, you will experience and reflect on these interactive forms of communication as catalysts for learning. Working in small groups, you will undertake short tasks designed to encourage the use of a variety of communication methods. Analogue materials such as pens, scissors, glue and paper will be provided to facilitate these communication processes. Finally, the interactive forms and experiences of communication, along with the outcomes produced, will be presented.
