SUMMARY:Climate Parliament – Public Rehearsal
DESCRIPTION:Climate\, change\, species extinction – did we miss something? \nWe humans leave a very deep mark on the planet. But what right do we have to dictate so much\, when humans make up just 0.01 per cent of the Earth’s biomass? Droughts\, floods – and even cold waves – show that we humans have less say in things than we think. It’s high time our fellow inhabitants of the world were given a voice! \nWhat do other beings and non-beings* think about this\, and do they have better ideas and solutions for living together? \nIn our workshop\, we’ll explore these questions together with you. We’ll playfully establish a parliament of all beings and non-beings. \nYou’ll empathise with animals\, plants and objects\, slip into their skin with a costume piece\, search for words to write down your wishes\, and find the right moves and sounds for your ‘animal-plant-object’ speech in the Climate Parliament. You’ll deliver your speeches to one another and discuss the demands. Your resolutions will be sent by postcard to so-called ‘real’ human politics. \n  \n\nregistration: to follow\n\n  \nThis event will be held in German! \nAn initiative by HOOU and the Climate Parliament \nAn event by \n   \n\n* Creatures are all living beings on Earth\, such as earthworms\, swifts\, fish\, forests\, or micro-organisms like mites or bacteria. \nNon-living things are inanimate objects\, such as stones\, wind\, electricity\, and also man-made things like cars\, patio heaters or balloons.

DESCRIPTION:Zines (derived from the word ‘magazine’) are small\, homemade booklets and a surprisingly effective way to learn. In this workshop\, we’ll take a brief look at the history of these DIY booklets and discover why writing down and designing content deepens our understanding and helps us retain knowledge better. Afterwards\, we’ll fold\, write\, draw and glue: everyone will create their own mini-zine on a topic of their choice and present it to the group. You’ll not only take your own zine home with you\, but also a new method that you can integrate straight into your everyday learning routine. No prior knowledge is required. DESCRIPTION:Communication is essential for finding solutions to a task together with others. Yet conveying one’s own ideas for solutions to others is a major challenge. How can these vague ideas\, which so far exist only in the imagination\, be communicated? What information does the person I’m talking to need in order to understand my ideas and build on them? Should I describe them verbally or through drawings? Or can I convey my vision through gestures? \nIn this workshop\, participants will experience and reflect on these reciprocal forms of communication as catalysts for learning. In small groups\, mini-tasks will encourage the use of diverse forms of communication. Analogue media such as pens\, scissors\, glue and paper etc. will be provided for the communicative processes.
