New to the library? 5. E-books and their use

The library offers not only printed media. Many titles are additionally available as digital versions, and some are even only available digitally. You can access the digital editions via our library catalog, recognizable by the button “Volltext@TUHH”. The button leads directly to the text or to the download options.

The content can be downloaded as PDF (partly also as EPUB) article by article or as a whole book, depending on the publisher’s specifications. For licensing reasons, this is only possible from the TUHH intranet. On campus you have access via the TUHH WLAN (keyword Eduroam).

As a student (or employee) of the TUHH, you can also access our digital media from home. For this, however, you will need a VPN connection to the TUHH network. Alternatively, some publishers allow access via the single sign-on “Shibboleth”. For this, you do not need a VPN connection, but log in to the provider’s site via an institutional login with your institutional e-mail address.

Please note: Our licenses allow duplications (e.g. copies, downloads) for own scientific use only. If no PDF for the whole book is offered for download, it is usually only allowed to download single chapters or pages. The licenses also do not allow redistribution to third parties or systematic downloading by robots!
